This pure Sea Salt from Sant’Antioco in southwest Sardinia is born in a natural oasis of seaside Lagunas. These were drawn together in the 1960s to create salt pans where sea salt can be naturally evaporated. The sloping terrain and high salinity waters result in a naturally moist salt, that is 100% untreated. This maintains its natural mineral properties. The Sant’Antioco salt pans are a natural oasis for European shorebirds, including the largest flock of flamingos in all of Europe. This superfood salt blended with myrtle berries is a delightful seasoning for roasted potatoes and seafood. Myrtle berries from the wildlands of Sardinia have a big aromatic profile of juniper and bay and are rich in flavonoids, an antioxidant.
